ASOIU’s Acting Rector meets with the Rector of Middle East Technical University

During his visit to Türkiye, the Acting Rector of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), Associate Professor Vazeh Askarov, met with the Rector of Middle East Technical University (METU), Professor Ahmet Yozgatlıgil.

The meeting highlighted the long-standing cooperation between the two higher education institutions, emphasizing that the collaboration between ASOIU and METU spans over 30 years. It was noted that during the early years of modern Azerbaijan’s independence, official cooperation between ASOIU (then AzII) and METU began. Over the decades, numerous multifaceted projects and programs have been successfully implemented between the two institutions. In 2022, a memorandum of cooperation was signed to further strengthen joint activities, including international initiatives such as Erasmus+ projects.

The meeting also addressed topics such as student and faculty exchange programs, joint scientific research and studies, the implementation of collaborative projects, and the mutual exchange of experiences.
